This is a collaborative art fundraiser among among UK, USA, and China schools to help raise money for the Turkey earthquake disaster. The gist of the project is :
1) The students of each of the participating schools will take a picture of what they think best embodies “Hope”,
2) Each school will gather their students' photos, send them to us in Hong Kong
3) The Hong Kong I.T. team will then stitch them together to form an image like this : https://www.photo-mosaic.co.uk/how-it-works/what-is-a-photo-mosaic/
4) We have already contacted a very famous street artist in Hong Kong who has very generously agreed to donate one of his pieces to form the main picture (he is in the process of planning it now). The street artist’s name is Xeme and his Instagram ID is : xememex
5) After we create the photo mosaic with the photos of all the children, we will then create an NFT (non-fungible token) of the work to be auctioned
6) Of course, we will also have smaller physical copies of the finished photo mosaic for purchase – and all schools will undertake to donate the raised funds to the Turkey charity (to be decided)
7) We are going to contact the Turkish embassy for support. Furthermore, we are going to contact Hong Kong Legislative Councillors (similar to the MPs in the UK, or senators in the USA) for letters of support. Of course, if you could get a letter of support from someone famous from your end, that would be fantastic as well.
Would this be something that your school would be interested? I’m hoping that more students can participate because the photo mosaic would need quite a number of photos to look good. If this is something that you guys would be interested in, how many students do you anticipate would participate?
