In this interactive program for little ears, listen to the reading of Jeanette Winters' book, "The Christmas Tree Ship,"  Participants then make a storytelling ornament that helps them share Great Lakes maritime history with friends and family.  Ornament kits for each participant are included in this program.

Program Details

Format

1.. This program begins with an interactive reading of "The Christmas Tree Ship."
2. We then discuss the story.
3. Participants review the story as they make a storytelling ornament that reminds them of the different part s of the story.
4. Time is allowed for questions and answers.

Objectives

The participant will:
-be able to list cargo schooners once carried on the Great Lakes.
-be able to explain what schooner is.
-make a storytelling ornament.
-become the storyteller of this Great Lakes Maritime story.
