1. This program begins with an introduction to the world of birds2. We then discuss what makes raptors different from other birds using live birds and specimens3. The role of raptors in the environment is discussed4. An overview of a variety of raptors are given and includes their natural history5. Participants meet a variety of hawks and owls6. Why it is important to conserve raptors and the dangers they still face is then discussed7. Time is allowed for questions and answers
The participant will:-explore the world of raptors-develop an appreciation for the role of raptors in the natural world-understand why there are laws to protect raptors-learn identification skills to better identify birds in their own area
