Program Details

Format

Theater and movement workshops are highly (and always voluntarily!) participatory, and begin with fun warm up exercises, followed by skill building with demonstrations and practice, with plenty of room for questions and answers. Students can participate as able; we cultivate a fun, safe, respectful , consensual environment for all to explore the specific customized theater, circus, or movement topic chosen.
Circus arts program example:
Students will learn circus arts such as juggling, balance, and physical comedy that they can practice safely in a classroom or at home, using their own amazing bodies and re-using, rather than throwing away, commonly available materials (e.g.,3 plastic bags, 3 balls or beanbags, a pair of long socks that can be too worn out to wear, or still wearable!)

Objectives

Participant will build skills in selected theater topic; build skills for self-expression; gain confidence; build creativity and teamwork.
