Format
1. This program begins with a discussion on how exercise is
for everyone regardless of ability or age
2. Then participants will learn about aerobic exercise
3. We discuss muscles and strength training
4. Participants will learn about bones and exercises to
increase bone density
5. Participants engage in two activities, one that helps
identify common exercises and another that helps
distinguish between sedentary and active actions
Objectives
Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:
1. Identify the importance of living an active lifestyle.
2. Name three activities that would be a way to get
exercise.
3. Name three ways to stay active when the weather is
not appropriate.
4. State that exercise is beneficial for the body and mind.
5. List challenges of exercise for students with disabilities
and how to overcome these.
