To create atmosphere from a simple line drawing making a line show the flow of clothes.
This Program will offer sketching and drawing of fashion styles as well as looking at Images taken from Museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum London and Worthing Museum in Sussex and the British Museum London and their room of Elgin Marbles with unique Greek and Roman statues.
We will learn how to draw sharply and quickly the styles of fashion designs using pencil, wash and charcoal.
We will discuss the way the Greeks dressed and how society has influenced our Dress through time.
We will listen to how famous people such as Jackie Kennedy and Princess Diana have shown their personalities through their dress.
We will study Elizabethan Costumes,Victorian and Baroque as well as how the Sixties was a time of short dresses and boots.

Lucienne Sharpe is a past Researcher and Alumni of Fashion having studied at the Famous Central St Martins Arts College England.She studied with Bill Gibb who became one of the most famous Fashion Designers of the Sixties, Designing and making Dresses for Film stars such as Elizabeth Taylor. We will look at Images of Fashion and discuss how Fashion has changed through the Ages and shows reflections of Societies life style. This is one of one Video Conference when requested or to be streamed or part of a Module. It can be used for Accreditation with specific targets.

Program Details

Format

We will look at Images from a variety of sources such as Museums and Drawings and then discuss the change in Historic Context. We could also do some drawings to share. it would be good if there was another school to share designs across the Link with. Discussions as well to compare the fashions.
We will look at the Greek costumes and 1920's as well.
We may also show how to do details using pencils for such designs as lace.

To see the Authentic Designs
Gain an understanding of what goes on in an Art College.
