2. We briefly discuss what a wetland ecosystem is and its functions.
3. Identify some impacts on this ecosystem.
4. Introduce our turtle, its habits and discuss why it is at risk.
5. Use Google Earth locations to explore stressors and restoration efforts.
6. Time is allowed for questions and answers.
Objectives
The participant will:
- discuss what a species at risk is
- examine how a wetland ecosystem supports a large diversity of plants and animals
- discover how an ecosystem can be impacted on by humans
- list five of the most common stressors
- engage in a discussion about Species at Risk and restoration efforts with our Species at Risk Biologist.
