Moose Mysteries uncovers the mysteries of a giant hooved icon- moose! This EdZoocational program at the Alaska Zoo will unveil what it takes to be a mischievous moose in Alaska! The zoo will give you an up-close look at our antlered friends as you discover this symbol of the north.

Program Details

Format

1. This program begins with a short video familiarizing the audience with the location and mission of the Alaska Zoo.
2. Introduction to staff member and encounter animal(s).
3. Discussion on antlers vs. horns.
4. Discoveries- What is a moose?
5. Awesome Adaptations via photo/video.
6. Time allowed for questions and answers.

Objectives

Through this program participants should be able to:
*Describe the differences/characteristics between antlers and horns.
*Identify key characteristics of a moose.
*Discuss what makes moose such great northern survivalists!
