from Author SissyMarySue (Wendy Muhlhauser)

NEW PROGRAM!! Students hear a live reading with visuals, of NEW -FIVE STAR book "EMPATHY AIRLINES-Jelly Beans the Cheetah and Hope-Book 2."  Students are encouraged to consider the implications of Hope meeting the FEMALE pilot on the flight. They recall the many examples of empathy in the story that were modeled by the characters in this new story. I encourage a Q & A that is free form.

"SissyMarySue has done it again!" declares Patty Hall ,Founder of H2O For Life. When they met, in Tanzania, Africa, Hope, a sad girl and Jelly Beans a captured cheetah, began a lifelong friendship through mutual caring. The power of their surprising partnership-strengthened by empathy-connected them with a new family the Barabiag tribe. In this highly anticipated sequel Hope and Jelly Beans use compassionate listening to explore what brought them together.  Cheetah and Elephant conservation and the need for Clean water are brought to light in this book!
Hope shares memories of the empathy shown by the flight crew on her way to Africa. She was empowered too by the Black female pilot she met on the plane. This experience inspires she and Jelly Beans to create an EMPATHY AIRLINES game. They play it with the children in the village. They are sure they can learn Barabaig and teach the children English through playing airlines!  But first they must make a challenging journey to retrieve the items to enhance their play they left at the shack, where they stayed before coming to live with the tribe. They encounter many challenges on this journey but together they feel they can do anything!

HUMBLED to have Global Partners who-endorse book-Cheetah Conservation Fund, International Elephant Foundation and H2O For Life.

"SissyMarySue's unstoppable mission to teach children empathy is the driving, passionate force behind this book."
 Nichole Smaglick-Ceo Cooper and Kid

"SissyMarySue's message of caring and compassion returns in this charming story.  Her warmth and love for the world shine through in the characters and the illustrations. SissyMarySue has a passion for bringing us all together to see how much we all share."
Katherine McGraw PhD, Marie Fielder Center for Democracy, Leadership and Education- Fielding Graduate University

"Empathy Airlines" is a wonderful story that will engage and educate all readers about the true value of empathy. SissyMarySue explains how having clean water near the village drastically changed the lives of the Barabaig girls. The illustrations are inspiring and convey the setting beautifully. "
Christy Andacht, Executive Director H2O For Life

All youth should be represented in the books they read, in media and technology. They deserve to be fully represented and empowered. I focus on literacy, language development, reading readiness, social-emotional growth (especially EMPATHY & UNITY), critical thinking and global themes. I provide virtual author interactions, in person readings speeches and teacher training.  I am encouraged to have wonderful collaborations. My books are endorsed by Cheetah Conservation Fund, International Elephant Foundation and H2O For Life.

AWARD WINNING (Globally Mindful, MOM'S CHOICE) & FIVE STAR "Jelly Beans the Cheetah and Hope" has a critical thinking page-with the suggestion to teach it using drama/play for learning with examples. A page is devoted to the Barabaig Tribe's culture too. Conservation and Clean water are offered as ways to apply empathy. I taught from this book long before it was published since I sought to make certain the concepts and ideas were effective with students. It provided best practices to share with educators in how to maximize the learning potential of the book,

MOM'S CHOICE AWARDED, FIVE STAR- "EMPATHY AIRLINES-Jelly Beans the Cheetah and Hope" Book #2  (Black female pilot and Asian male co-pilot). This is a NEW PROGRAM!

EXCITED TO SHARE----UPDATES!
Next will come book #3 "Tristy Sparkles" (Black female teacher & beautifully diverse/inclusive classroom). Books #2 and #3 illustrated by Minneapolis College of Art and Design interns.
Book #4 Dunnigan Bower is in the illustration phase of development.

I am an Author, doctoral (ABD-all but dissertation) student pursing my EdD in Leadership for Change, Marie Fielding Fellow, lifelong Minnesota educator, lyricist, and playwright. I utilize a variety of modalities to encourage social and ecological justice through story, by the exposure to empathy and Multiculturalism.  I was blown away by the talent and dedication (this was focus on cause- clean water!) of the young people in the first production of "Jelly Beans the Cheetah and Hope" as a MUSICAL PLAY November 2018.  It was Directed by Carrie Carlson- with Children's' Performing Arts Hanifl Performing Arts Center-White Bear Lake, Minnesota.. The second production was April 2019 by the same team to support Birch Lake Elementary's Grant they received. 40 3rd -5th graders, in the cast as compared to the cast of 20, 5-15 year olds previously, were also tremendous! We have an Album out of songs from books/plays!  Info on home page...www.sissymarysue.org

I originated a play/drama for learning technique in my previous education business- Jelly Beans Creative Learning. I apply my experience in having trained teachers. I developed my knowledge base from having taught multi-city programming and provided in school projects. I was an Adjunct Faculty for the Graduate School of Education- Hamline University with my technique. Foreign language & diversity are still a focus. I share messages of our connection as the human family, our world community.
