A fun and informative live music program about the impact of women on the uniquely American music genre, “The Blues.” Part concert, part history, part folklore, Kirsten starts with the early innovators and pioneers, working up to contemporary stars of today while sharing some of her personal journey as a professional touring musician. Kirsten is accompanied by Eric Boyd on bass and guitar for this one hour program.

Format

The program begins with a brief overview, as well as a song that begins the musical timeline
Kirsten then moves through the historical timeline, with songs, stories, and interesting facts
Major figures and events of the era are highlighted in depth
The program shifts to more contemporary theme, showing the influence of the blues on modern music from multiple genres
Time is allowed for questions and answers at the conclusion of the program.
