This program is the first in a series but it can also stand alone. The series covers the basic social and emotional learning principles taught through the lens of music. This lesson focuses on empathy.Students will discuss empathy and the ways in which we can identify the feelings of others. They will consider a good friend of theirs, take their perspective and imagine a song that represents their current emotional state. We will discuss why these choices were made and, for homework, deliver that song to their friend as an act of kindness and understanding.
