A live Mote educator will guide you virtually through the aquarium aligning this educational tour with grade appropriate state standards while discussing the latest Mote research connections. This is a lively and engaging program with time for questions and answers.

You may connect with us up to 10 minutes prior to your scheduled start time to ensure the quality of the connection. However, you must connect with us no later than 15 minutes after your start time to avoid cancellation and billing. Lesson fees will not be waived due to technical problems unless reliably traced to a malfunction on our end. We provide informal science education to pre-K children through adults, aligning with state and national education standards with a focus on marine research themes through exciting, interactive lessons and authentic research experiences.

Mote Aquarium is proud to be accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and has met rigorous, professional standards for animal care, wildlife conservation and research, education and more.

Our virtual field trips are an exciting way to engage your learners with STEM topics. Dive into our aquarium and chat with a shark trainer. Or explore the Florida Keys and make observations like a real coral reef scientist. Lessons are available up to 30 or 60 minutes in length for PreK-12th + Lifelong Learners.

Program Details


1. This program begins with an introduciton from our educator
2. We then go on a virtual tour of our aquarium using pre-recorded video and photos
3. Time is allowed for questions and answers.


Students will gain a better understanding of the form & function of ocean animals.
Students will understand why Mote studies our oceans.
Students will be able to recall different habitats and ocean animal adaptations.
Students will appreciate the biodiversity in our ocean and the importance of protecting them.
