Format
1. This program begins by discussing the reasons to be
smoke free and that vape pens are not safe
2. Then participants learn about the effects of nicotine on
the brain
3. We discuss the various chemicals in vape pens and their
effects on the lungs
4. Then participants engage in an activity to decide what
things belong in lungs and what do not
5. Participants learn about vape pen combustion
Objectives
Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:
1. Identify the risks of nicotine use.
2. Explain how difficult nicotine addiction is to overcome.
3. List three effects of e-cigarettes such as coughing,
wheezing, and asthma exacerbation.
4. Identify risks of using an e-cigarette device resulting in
explosions and projectile injuries.
