In this 3-part series on digital citizenship, designed for 7th grade, we lead students through critical issues that they face in the online world. Delivered live, this unique experience meets students where they are, engaging them in meaningful conversations about their lives and providing context on how to live safely in this digital world.

Program Details

Format

Each program is live and unique based on the experience and questions of the students. Two live teachers will lead students through key information, providing unique prompts and discussion points to engage the students on issues important to them.

Objectives

Lesson 1:

Students will have greater awareness of their own screen time usage and digital habits. They will know what amount of time is too much to be considered healthy. Students will also learn about the dangers of being “chronically online”.

Lesson 2:

Students will determine what it means to create an online persona for themselves responsibly. They will be able to identify and further understand their online audience. They will also explore what ways are healthy to interact with others in their online circles.

Lesson 3:

Students will develop a greater awareness of how they consume information on the internet. They will understand what it means to go viral online. Students will also explore ways to resist “doom scrolling”, and the pressures to post too much online.
