Program Details

Format

This presentation uses a photo slideshow to guide participants through the life and crimes of Al Capone and his connection to the Prohibition era in the United States. Along the way, the presenter highlights historical artifacts related to the period and Capone.

Major topics include his childhood and introduction to organized crime, his move to Chicago, his relationship with mentor Johnny Torrio, the Chicago Beer Wars, the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, and his later legal troubles, incarceration, release and death.

Objectives

1. Participants will explore the life of Al Capone and how his rise coincided with Prohibition.
2. Participants will have a deeper understanding of Capone's criminal empire.
3. Participants will understand Capone's legal troubles and his decline.
