Think Like an Egyptian: Ancient Egypt Review Game

Turn your social studies review into an exciting virtual board game. Students break into teams and race to the end while testing their knowledge of ancient Egyptian culture and uncovering ancient Egyptian artifacts from the Penn Museum’s vast collection. We currently have review games focused on Mesopotamia and ancient Egypt with more to come. This is a great complement to our existing ancient Egypt themed programs. Book them together for a discount.
Each game activity lasts approximately 45-60 minutes and is $100 for a standalone program (for up to 30 students) or $75 when booked with one of our interactive virtual programs.

Cancellations made two weeks or more in advance will receive a full refund of the deposit. Please contact the Assistant Director of Virtual Programs if you need to change the date or time of your program.

No contact and/or multiple late cancellations may result in a school’s inability to book future visits.

Program Details

Format

Pre-Activity #1: Instructor breaks the class into small groups of no more than 5 students per group. Each group receives three randomly dealt Board Game Cards and a Flash Card with the letters A, B, C, and D printed on them to correspond with multiple choice responses.
Pre-Activity #2: Penn Museum educator walks students through the game rules.
Activity: Students play through the interactive board game, answering questions related to ancient Egypt, uncovering relevant artifacts in the Penn Museum collection, and learning "Fast Facts" about ancient Egypt.
Post-Activity: Penn Museum educator awards bonus points to teams for different achievements, such as uncovering the most artifacts and correctly answering the most questions, then awards a winner.
